What to Expect

What to expect at your initial visit

It is recommended that you arrive at the office 15 minutes before your appointment time to complete the necessary paperwork. On the first visit we will help you identify the cause of your problems. A detailed history will be taken that will include your health history, lifestyle, recreational and work related physical activities. A thorough examination will include a physical, orthopedic, neurological and chiropractic examination to determine how you can best be helped. We will also take digital pictures to assess your posture using the “Posture Pro” analysis system. This includes computerized pictures for you to take home. A low dose set of x-ray images may be taken to see any signs of pathology, malformations or fractures in your spine. The general condition of the joints in your spine will be noted, along with specific angulations and curvatures.

Second Visit—Report of Findings

On the second visit, which is usually the day following your first visit, you will receive a report of findings from your examination. For acute cases this can be done on the same day. We will show you a short video explaining our low force (no-cracking or popping) method of care and then present a thorough explanation of our findings. We will present your x-rays and explain the findings to you. In most cases an anatomical model of the spine will be used to ensure your comprehension of the findings. We will then tell you the amount of improvement you can expect in your condition, as well as how long it will likely take to achieve meaningful results. You will be given an individualized treatment schedule and a re-exam date where we can determine your progress.
